Were You Born in a Barn? - NaPoWriMo

Were You Born in a Barn?
Look with your eyes
   Instead of your mouth.
If you don't have anything nice to say,
   Don't say anything at all.
See this thing here?
   It is called a, "light switch."
If it was any closer
   It would have reached out
   And bit you.
Close the door.
   Or were you born in a barn?
Maybe you're spending too much time
   Staring at the boob-tube.
If you're going to roughhouse,
   Take it outside.
We do not hit.
Turn that down.
Keep your eye on the ball.
Don't borrow trouble.

It was all good advice,
   Even if we didn't recognize it,
   At the time.
