My Naked Face Husband
Matt shaved. He got a new job that, really, he is very well suited for--a produce clerk at a small, old-fashioned (at least in my opinion) grocery store. But, they have a store policy against beards. So, he shaved. I was shocked he was willing to do it. I'd never seen his face before--aside from childhood photos--and never expected to in all my life. I cried. Oh, how I cried. I just loved that beard. I know that its only hair. And he's still my incredible Matty, so hard-working, funny, and kind. (And handsome, of course.) But still. I remain in shock. I can't believe it. As we spread the word to friends and family, neither can anyone else.
I think it makes him looks ten years younger.

Change is different for sure! I grew up with a dad who had a ponytail. One day he had my mom braid it & cut it off (and jokingly gave it to my Gma as a "gift" lol). It's still fairly long-ish though, below his chin.
ReplyDeleteYour hubby looks nice regardless!
Thank heavens Matt still has his ponytail. When I cut off my dreadlocks I squirreled them away in a keepsake trunk. I still have them, somewhere.
DeleteOh my goodness what a big difference in his appearance! I find the idea of a "no beard policy" somewhat disturbing though..Hope he enjoys the job!
ReplyDeleteI know, right?! I can't believe they can even ask him to do it. I almost told him not to take it, but...
DeleteWowzers! Still handsome, as you said. My husband did the same thing many years ago. It took some getting used to, as i do like a man with facial hair.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Matt on the new job!!!
Yes, he's still handsome, but I like them more...ruggedly handsome, in general. He could keep a mustache, but I don't like them without the whole beard package. So, naked faced...at least for a while.
DeleteWowser!! Totally different!
ReplyDeleteHow strange a feeling that you're seeing your husband a way you've never seen him before. A true test of love! :D
