It is Never Too Late - Inspiration Thursday

Stop feeding you mind thoughts about the past. Forgive those who have done you wrong. And forgive yourself, too.  Start seeding thoughts and  actions which lead to a happier tomorrow. -Karen Salmansohn
Our thoughts are so powerful. SO, so powerful. I wish every human being knew that. We can build ourselves up and tear ourselves down. We can transform our world and ourselves. Our thoughts become our actions which shape the patterns of our lives. This is not to say that positive thinking is all we need to get by and achieve our dreams, but there comes a point where letting go of the past is the only way to fully move forward into the beautiful present. To live and be free! Holding grudges--including against our own selves--doesn't allow for personal growth and inward transformations which we need to make this world a kinder, better, richer, more beautiful place. Grudges lock us up from achieving our full potential. Grudges keep us mired in the past in a drama we'd be better served to leave behind as a lesson learned. It is not easy.  I know that first-hand. Each stumbling block, however, is a chance to learn, to grow, and to try again to be the person you want to be.  It is never too late to be that person.  It is never too late.

  1. So true. Thanks for the reminder! Trying hard to let a big grudge go, don't know if I can really forgive the person/s involved but I feel a lot better not dwelling on their wrongdoings!

    1. That is such a tricky thing which I have struggled with my whole life. I read this book once called Amish Peace: Simple Wisdom for a Complicated World which had a chapter about forgiveness. I learned that forgiveness doesn't nessessarily have to be "I forgive you" and never think of it again, it all in the past. I have to agree that that seems unrealistic. It is a daily process to forgive someone. Some days are easier than others, but trying is the important part. But that it gets easier with each day if we hold forgiveness in our hearts. That ramble in no way did the chapter justice though so I'd highly recommend giving it a read if you'd like. And best of luck as you let go!

  2. You are so right! I really liked this post.

This is something I have been practicing the last year or so. What I put out into the Universe will be returned to me (just maybe not in the way I expect.. blessings come in all shapes 'n sizes). I have a similar quote to this (I can't find the exact one) as my desktop background:

    “Your beliefs become your thoughts,
    Your thoughts become your words,
    Your words become your actions,
    Your actions become your habits,
    Your habits become your values,
    Your values become your destiny.”
    ― Mahatma Gandhi
