We are Homeowners!

As of a couple of hours ago it is official:  Matt and I are homeowners.  Hip, hip, hooray!

And now I have to try to be a librarian for the next 8 hours....sitting in my office trying not to burst at the seams and start cartwheeling around the circulation desk.  (Though, technically, the main level of the library is not the quiet study floor so maybe I could get away with it.....)

I've decided that there should be a Homebuyer's Holiday.  The day you close on the house should be a holiday from work.  I just want to plan and dream and get to work making our house into our home.   I don't want to think about books, aside from where I want to put my bookshelves!  Oh well, I shall just have to try.

We are both just supremely excited for this next phase in our lives together.

Also, for the next three months my blog will probably be all about the new house and the giant new gardening space....consider yourself warned!

  6. How exciting to have your own home. You will have a great time adding your own colors and decore in your own style. Congratulations for getting through all the paperwork and the many fees involved with buying a house. It looks like there is plenty of space for a garden, which I'm sure was a requirement for you!

  8. WOWO!!!! Congratulations! It's such a rush, I agree! Love your idea of the holiday. I could have used about a month :) because my mind was bursting too. I recall many late night trips to Walmart (ugh) just to scratch an idea itch.

  10. Congratulations! I have never in my life seen interest rates this low, not to mention prices. You'd be remiss not to buy in this market!

    1. Yes, it is really, really a great time to buy. When we were signing our closing papers the lending agent actually read our tiny interest rate in a real sing-song voice. Followed by "Which is awesome," in an equally sing-song voice. And it really, really IS awesome.

We are so happy. Thanks for sharing in our joy!

    1. Thanks, Becky!

I think it is sort of killing Matt that we have to paint and clean carpets before we can move in belongings. He doesn't want to paint he wants to explore the garden space and figure out the ditch pump and start the seedling nursery, etc, etc. But, all in good time.

I am really glad we found the right house so early in the year.
